It's the only Kagyu 3 year retreat in the world conducted entirely in English. +

I had started to get...and started to get a rudimentary knowledge of Tibetan. Hence, the Yidam sadhana, torma offerings....and so on
I had started to get Tibetan lessons from a monk at my monastery Jamchen Lhakang, but with moving to Pharping and living in a Bhutanese monastery without monks, but only Nepalese and difficult living conditions, I could never study Tibetan. Further, H.E. Chogye Trichen Rinpoche had explicitly advised me not to engage in formal study, but to do retreat caretaker. However, as all important ritual texts and sadhanas are available in a bi-lingual English translation with Tibetan transliteration, I have been able to conduct all rituals in Tibetan (which I prefer most) and started to get a rudimentary knowledge of Tibetan. +
It will not function in Tibetan. Though there is usually an option to do the Tibetan version of sadhanas. +
Drupon will teach in Tibetan. The group practices when done with Drupon will be in Tibetan. All the texts are translated into English already. The sadhana can be done in english or tibetan for individual practice. +

According to my Guru, The venerable Wangchen Rinpoche, the texts we have will be translated. However, he recommended that we learn some basic reading of Tibetan before we enter retreat - this is why we (the monastics at Ser Cho Ling) have begun studying Tibetan. +
