Khentrul Rinpoche requires us to practice in Tibetan with phonetic translation.
Paloma will be our personal translator for the entire retreat.
I intend to continue studying and practicing the Tibetan language. +
There will not be need to read or speak Tibetan, all texts will be in English with phonetics to the Tibetan . All oral instruction will be given with resident translator. +
Most of my teachers don't speek English and I recieve all of my teachings directly in Tibetan. I also do all my practices and read all the practice commentaries etc in Tibetan. +

Most of our special rituals are only Tibetan texts and soon our room practices will only be in Tibetan. I have studied Tibetan, and I can read it, although slowly; I can manage the special tsokpas. I don't speak it and so far can only comprehend a few words when I read it. I was not sure whether to choose "None" or "Basic reading comprehension" above, since I'm somewhere in the middle. My comprehension should improve as retreat goes on. +

Instruction will be given in English, via a translator. All group and individual practices will function in Tibetan. Certain texts are provided with transliteration at the beginning of the retreat, however by the 2nd year the practice texts will be entirely in Tibetan. +

All practices are carried out in Tibetan. English translations of the text will be available, though no English transliteration will be allowed in this retreat cycle. Teachings and instructions are all given in English. Fluency in reading and chanting Tibetan is a requirement; comprehension of Tibetan language is a secondary recommendation. +
Chanting practices both in group rituals and individual practices. Instructions from Lama Norlha Rinpoche will be translated. Commentaries will be in translation. Some Sadhanas are translated and transliterated. +
