The majority of my retreat instructions will be given to me in Tibetan from Lama Padma Dorje, who will serve as my retreat master. I will receive teachings from Khentrul Lodro Thaye Rinpoche and Lama Tsering Wangdu Rinpoche which will also be in Tibetan. I will read from the source Tibetan text for all of my Sadhana practice, and I will reference Tibetan commentaries to support my practice. The vast majority of my retreat will function in Tibetan. +

We follow the Sherab Ling tradition. All practices and ritual are in Tibetan. Instructions are given in Tibetan with an english translator. +

As part of the current Ngondro retreat we receive Tibetan lessons online every 5 days with the focus on spelling and reading speed. All of the teachings we receive from Drupon Rinpoche are translated into english. +
All practice and prayers are recited in Tibetan. The instructions provided by Khenpo Lhabu (to be confirmed) will be in Tibetan. The instructions provided by Ani Rinchen, who has been looking after the retreatants in Holy Island for some time, will be in Englich. +

Every 5 days, Drupon Rinpoche patiently gives a Tibetan lesson where the main focus is on developing reading skills. We are making good progress ! I am now able to read slowly, and recognize many words from the ngondro text. It was one aspiration, when entering this retreat, to become able to read and understand the ngondro text in Tibetan after having read phonetics for so many years. I am glad that this is progressively becoming possible. +
All group rituals and individual practices are chanted from Tibetan Script which, by now, is automatic. Direct comprehension is not a requirement as we have apparently good translations of all the texts. Most of us, however, recognise enough words to be reminded of a prayer's meaning while chanting it. +
All group pujas and individual sadhanas are in Tibetan.

Every 5 days, instead of a Dharma teaching, Rinpoche gives us a Tibetan class. During the 1st year we learnt spelling, reading, and some vocabulary, based on sadhana texts. +
