5000 pounds of personal savings +
I left the monastery in August 2009 in order to work and save money. I currently have Å8,000 saved and my parent's have committed to cover the Å3,000 running costs during the retreat. I currently require a further Å7,000 for the retreat. +
Personal savings of £4,500 (see financial statement) plus sponsorship of £1,000 +
£ 80 / month from family members +
I had personal savings of about GBP 9,500 of which I paid the first year of the four year retreat (incl. related expenditure) myself. This leaves me about GBP 3,000 in savings for living expenses after the retreat. Apart from this I have no other means of support. +
I have no sponsor. My mother may contributes token amounts here and there. I do have some savings. Thanks to the money I had saved, for the past eight years I was able to devote all of my time to study and practice. But with only expenses and no income, they have dwindled quickly. My "life's savings" will be sufficient only if I die within the next 3-4 years. +
To date I've raised just under $6,000 from family and sangha supporters. 100% of this money has been donated to me by others in order to support my doing the Three-Year. $3,000 of this has been paid to KCC as a non-refundable deposit. The remainder will pay for costs associated with the retreat which are not covered by the fee charged by KCC, such as travel to India for empowerments and purchasing of basic ritual implements and materials for a meditation box as required by the retreat.
I will apply for an internal KCC scholarship that is capped at half the cost of the total retreat.
I will continue fundraising among friends, sangha, and family.
As the result of working for KCC at the retreat center and not being in the conventional economy for the past four years, I do not have personal savings at this time. +
Please see the attached PDF financial statement document.
The total three year retreat cost is $47,000.
I have personal savings of $26,000 for the retreat.
I have already paid a non-refundable $3,000 deposit.
I am working full time to save $4,000 more by January.
I am kindly requesting a scholarship of between $14,000 and $18,000 for the balance.
Thank you. +
Yes. I have $35,000 in savings. It is my only financial reserve and only asset. This is explained in the email I sent to Tsadra, along with my other documents. +
I have an Individual Retirement Acct and some savings which I've accumulated with help from family & friends. I will do the Retreat in any case, but if I receive a scholarship, it will enable me to volunteer full time after Retreat. +
$16,000 scholarship from Kagyu Changchub Chuling
$7000 donations from sangha members, friends and family
$4300 personal savings +
No. I am trying to find some extra jobs to save a little and friends will give, but most of my friends are dharma practitioners and can only make small donations. I am also selling what I have that can be sold. I have been doing this for awhile. +
I have not yet asked, but do plan to ask my Sangha members for donations. Family members are unlikely to donate. I have limited personal savings, but do have regular retirement income from Social Security and a Pension totaling about $1900 per month. This would be enough to pay the estimated costs during retreat of $1250 per month, but it would not allow me to save very much to re-establish a home after retreat. To the extent a scholarship would offset costs during retreat, the transition afterward would be eased considerably. If more details about my finances are needed, I would be happy to provide them on request. +
I have still some debt to pay before going in retreat and but my Tibetan wife Pema Yangchen Nymeyer and myself are certain that we will have USD $ 25.000 to pay the pre retreat, and part of the retreat itself +
My mother will occasionally help me with some financial assistance +
I have about 15,000 in a personal savings account that i have held for retirement, retreat, emergencies. I have no family support and no regular sponsors. I work for the money I use to live. My expenses are very low. +
I have about 25,000 dollars in personal savings. I have no family support due to differences in religious beliefs. I receive 50 dollars a month towards dharma offering supplies such as tea lights and incense as an offering from a friend. I have not reached out to friends directly asking for retreat support mostly due to the times and people being so financially challenged due to Covid. I am going to seek some extra support after retreat, so I hope to find at least $100 monthly to augment what I am currently requesting from Tsadra so that the budget it is not too tight for all unanticipated or unexpected expenses such as house maintenance, etc. +
I have savings of 18,000 USD. I will do my translation work and also look for other jobs to earn money until my retreat starts Oct. 2020. +
nil - please see document on financial situation +
I have no financial means to support my three-year retreat in Gomde Pyrenees, France. +
