I have been a student under their guidance since 2009, and have been a student of Tibetan Buddhism since my first introduction at Kopan Monastery in Nepal in 1989 with Geshe Lama Konchog.

It was a blessing to receive teachings and empowerments from Geshe Lama Konchog, whose words of wisdom left an immense imprint, and remain with me to this day. Khensur Rinpoche Geshe Lhundrup Rigsel and Yangsi Rinpoche also taught during this month long immersion into Buddhism. Returning to South Africa, I met Ven. Godwin Samararatne who was leading a month retreat at Ixopo Buddhist centre. It was a deep and personal connection, we stayed in touch afterwards and I joined retreats he led in UK, Netherlands and Sri Lanka. I moved to the Netherlands and studied with Geshe Sonam Gyaltsen and Geshe Ngawang Zopa at the Maitreya Institute. And received teachings from H.H. Dalai Lama, Tulku Pema Rigdzin Rinpoche, H.E. Garchen Rinpoche, H.E. Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche, Tsokni Rinpoche and Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche.  In 2009 I met Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, and have been a student in his lineage since then.
