I receive a modest retirement income: $1,564.88 net monthly. Because I have no savings or assets I must be able to save and put aside enough each month so that I have a safety net upon completion of the retreat, since I will be 65 and unlikely to find well-paying work. There are also other expenses outside of the retreat such as health insurance. My younger son is just 18 and starting college and my older son is a newlywed, so they are not able to contribute. I have no other close family. I will start a GoFundMe campaign and ask internet friends if they would wish to contribute, but I have not yet done so. I had planned to pay $800/month of the costs and tuition which I incorrectly thought would cover the tuition and costs, but costs are greater than this. Therefore I am humbly and gratefully requesting assistance from Tsadra Foundation for the remaining $400 per month.  +

In case of necessity I would have to opt for the following: Financial aid from the Milarepa Retreat Zentrum (would have to apply in case of not receiving the scholarship). Family support from my immediate family (in case I can't receive any kind of scholarship or financial aid).  +
I have been saving some money every month to help with my financial support while in retreat  +

I have set a webpage at The Offering Bowl: http://theofferingbowl.com/index.php/petitioners/134-cecilia-amador and have received some donations, up to now 1733USD plus another donation of 2000USD. As a freelance translator of scientific texts I can support myself when I work but I have not much more financial means.  +
No. I have finally cleared myself of debt but have a low income which doesn't allow much savings. I have the chance to retain my jog while in retreat, so I'll have an income between retreat segments, which is a lot in my situation. However, it is clear that without financial support this retreat would not be possible, since the money it entails is really out of my range. I have no sponsor of family support, nor do I own anything of value like a house.  +
Personal savings that i will endeavour to accumulate working when i complete my post-graduate studies in Primary care Medicine July 2010  +
Since June 2008 I have living as a resident and nun at Gampo Abbey and have earned no income at all. I will continue to live at Gampo Abbey in between the retreat phases. For the first phase of retreat I did fund raising among relatives and friends in Holland and Canada/US. 43 People were generous enough to help me pay my tuition for the first phase (CAN $ 6,000) and the other half was paid by Gampo Abbey. There were actually 3 people who gave half the amount I needed, but I can't expect them to help me again with so much money. Therefore I think it will be difficult for me to again raise such an amount of money through personal fund raising. For the 2nd and 3rd phase of retreat I will again receive support from Gampo Abbey. They will pay half my tuition. Therefore I am asking for support for the other half of the retreat tuition and I would be very grateful if Tsadra Foundation could help raise those costs (Nancy Huszagh has provided you with an overview of those costs). I still have some savings: US $ 8,800. However I am going to start the immigration procedure to immigrate to Canada this year, which will cost me about US $ 3,000 and I will also need to pay other personal costs (medicines, family visit, practice texts, etc) from this amount with no other money coming in.  +
I plan to cover my own expenses (estimated: $3,000/ year) for any travel, abhishekas, teacherÃs gifts, and practice liturgies, etc., through personal earnings and the sale of personal possessions. Beyond that, I will not have the necessary funds to pay the monthly cost of the retreat. I am also applying to Khyentse Foundation to consider co-funding the retreat for the remaining $200 a month, for at least the first twelve of the initial eighteen months of retreat, with the possibility of considering a similar request for continuing retreat. Note regarding financial need: as adjunct faculty at MSU Denver since 2006, I was paid less than $20,000 a year, which left little discretionary income and no room for savings. In addition, my prior livelihood came to an abrupt end with the technology downturn in the early two thousands, and, as I had to go through bankruptcy as a result, I had no savings or equity to carry forward from that period of my life. I have no savings; just the monies from my monthly unemployment benefits in my checking until the monthly expenses are met.  +
Unfortunately I have no other financial support. The cost for retreat is $27350 plus $4750 for insurance.  +
There are other expenses associated with Garchen Institute three Year Retreat. I will fundraise for these extra expenses with friends and colleague. As I work for a non for profit, The Tibetan Center, my salary will not give me room to save any money for retreat. I have to rely on others generosity. I will also apply for support to the Khyentse Foundation. their deadline is in December and will begin to accept applications in November 2017. Extra expenses itemized by Garchen Institute 1. initial furnishings for their hut (the huts start out empty; some have shelving) 2. food (retreatants prepare their own meals, and food shopping is done weekly for retreatants) 3. supplements 4. personal hygiene items 5. any special kitchen items (other than the dishes, pots and pans, silverware, utensils, and cleaning supplies that are provided by the Institute) 6. clothing 7. linens (sheets, blankets, pillows, bath towels, etc.) 8. medicines and health insurance 9. cost of transportation in case of urgent/emergency medical conditions 10. practice texts (some are funded) 11. ritual items (offering bowls, bell, dorje, damaru, bhumpa, kapala, serkyem, darthar, mandala pans, torma plates, etc.Ãall these are required for your retreat) 12. other personal items 13. Incense  +
Personal Savings should be 10k at the time of retreat. Family support will be very limited. Currently I am working on finding more sponsorship and am confindent i can pool 100 or 200 dollars a month from that area. I am currently Debt Free.  +
I used my personal savining to suppot the prior three year retreat that ended 04/2013. I do not have any family financial support. Based on the experience of other retreatants needing financial support in addition to Tsadra, I have asked some sangha members for support. I have no significant financial support at this time.  +
I hope to have some money saved by the time retreat starts to cover any extra needs, and am also seeking benefactors to take care of any medical costs I might have during retreat.  +
personal savings and family support  +
I have personal savings that I can use if the first six months of funding are unavailable. These savings will also cover health insurance, visa expenses, ritual items, and personal expenses, such as toiletries, etc. My parents have offered to loan me money if I need it, but I would prefer not to be in financial debt, if at all possible.  +
