I took refuge with Mingyur Rinpoche in April 2011. +
I took refuge at the same time as I became ordained as a Genyen nun on the 6th May 1993 with Lama Yeshe Rinpoche. I also renewed my refuge with the late Akong Rinpoche around the year 2010. +
Refuge vows were bestowed by Tai Situ Rinpoche in 1989 I believe to a large group in San Francisco. I received the card with a dharma name but really did not understand the process. I did know that Buddhism was where I belonged, and taking the vow was in full good faith with no doubt.
I met Lama Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche in 2003. I asked for a divination to help with a serious family problem. A puja was recommended and I was directed how to make arrangements. Results were dramatic. The following year when Lama Dawa was again in Sacramento, I returned to ask for a divination for help with a deeply troubled student I was working with. The mirror told me to begin a Red Saraswati practice. Lama Dawa gave me a private, abbreviated empowerment, and my heart broke open. Lama Dawa took my hands as I sobbed and assured me, "I am your friend in the Dharma." The following year, I had the good fortune to host Lama Dawa in my home. I asked him to accept me as my student and took refuge with him. +

I took refuge with the venerable Khenpo Phuntsok Tenzin Rinpoche in February 2014, during a weekend of Drikung Phowa teachings and transmissions in Santiago de Chile. +

I've took refuge from my Guru HE Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche in 2006. +
I took refuge in 1996 with late Geshe Tsulga in my home, with the entire Kurukulla group of students. He gave me my name, Jampa Lhamo.
Now, in May this year I took refuge with His Holiness The Drikung Kyabgon Chetzang. He gave me the name of Drolma.
In 1998 I took refuge with the Karma Kagyu Lineage with Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche. +
I took refugue with the current 42nd Sakya Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche about a week after I met Garchen Rinpoche. Not knowing when I would see Garchen Rinpohe again and feeling the urgency to formally take refuge I decided better to do so at the first opportunity that arose. +
