Third daughter and son support her Buddhist choices. Feeling of devastation when husband died was major motivation to apply dharma practice.  +

Grandparents migrated from Japan to Brazil; parents older, father retired; in construction management helped by KK’s two brothers (one older and one younger); mother Catholic so understanding of his monastic choice and retreat.  +
Father and Mother each have son and daughter separately; Felipe is only child of both; closer to mother; both catholic, mother understands; but maybe not at deep level. Living on his own studying at University.  +
Southern Baptist so not really supportive, but ok to let him do what makes him happy. One sister (married to a minister) and parents. Living on his own since age 17.  +
Grandfather (grandmother died a couple of years ago); both parents are geneticists; older brother just completed 3 yr retreat at KTC and will be attendant for this retreat. Parents open minded ... as long as the kids are finding a meaningful life  +
Reformed Jewish; mother prof of social work at NYU; father psychologist; older brother studied Chinese History and travelled to China; on adopted sister - best friend was adopted when her mother became schizophrenic and incompetent. Relationship with parents improved when understanding impermanence and debt of gratitude from dharma study.  +
