Community service
* 2009 Donated fitness services for a charity auction for Bronx youth project meant to help with education of underprivileged youth.
* 2009 Video project for local TV and web. I worked with a clairvoyant dharma teacher in Manhattan. He answers people questions for free. He had a TV show and I put him on the web. His advice was good in my opinion because it was applicable to people's lives but also infused with dharma knowledge. His name was Amitabha and he is the most clairvoyant white person I've ever met and I respect his generosity.
* 2008-2009 Taught free yoga and kickboxing at Lulu Lemon in Manhattan
* 2008-2009 Taught free yoga for small groups in Brooklyn and NYC in an attempt to help urban people sit still and calm-down.
* 2008-2009 Performed Acro-Yoga (partner acrobatic yoga) at charity events including NY Giants player's non-profit the McQuarters Foundation and free family events in McCarren Park Brooklyn.
* 2007-2008 Helped friends and yoga colleagues raise money for people in Cambodia living in landfills. Assisted with publicity of the fundraiser project, helped with sales of (and purchased many) environmentally friendly goods which proceeds went to cause. Also offered services for donations and performed Acro-Yoga at events. The main woman I assisted raised $20,000. She taught me a lot about fundraising and motivation, it was very inspiring.
* 2007 Assisted my Aunt Uncle in organizing environmental activists together to help market Ãbeing green' and make environmentally friendly alternatives readily available to the public. I met with the groups about marketing, multi-media ideas and web site designs.
* 2006 Taught 14 years in an after school program in the Mission San Francisco. The students were having problems in school. I taught them video production and editing. The idea was to cultivate interests in them that were not things like gang violence or drug sales, which were there former habits. I had 5 students and saw progress in each of them.
* 1999 Students for a free Tibet: NYU Club. Researched, distributed information.
* 1991-1995 Ecology Corps
Participated in and organized environmental community activities involving water
testing, trash clean up and the plan and planting of a wetland behind our middle
school.
