2016-2021 I lived as part of the Dharma community in the Rigpa center in Berlin and participated in community work like shopping, cleaning, gardening, preparing and holding daily practice as well as practice days and yearly drupchös, events with guest teachers and so on.  +
Nothing that comes to mind just ow beyond what I just mentioned. If it can be included, I have accompanied two dying people as I was still in the robes may years ago in Malaysia. And most recently my dear mother was dying and due to my being unemployed I was able to sped the last 2 weeks of hers virtually 24/7 around her and that included feeding her, assisting in washing and newly positioning her, talking to her, being with her and reminding her of impermanence and to take refuge (in her case Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and to encourage her throughout until she drew her last breath.  +
My service, as related to Buddhist service, has been serving communities in duress/high risk. This service has continued as part of my present career as a psychotherapist since 1998, and before the completion of my Degree at Naropa University. The communities I worked with have spanned a wide range in the field of mental health, such as: Homeless Shelters; at risk youth in specialized school environments; residential treatment centers focused on severe and persistent mental illness; and working with families, children, teens, and adults as a Psychotherapist.  +
Presently, I am a Practicing Psychotherapist/Somatic Therapist, where I serve a portion of the community who have an interest in Buddhist practice and meditation.  +

I worked for ROKPA UK which has an office at Samye Ling for the eight months following the four year retreat.  +
I have been involved since 2009 with APHO (www.apho.org.np), a charity based in Bodanath, Nepal which assists blind and destitute people, as an active support member (www. apho.org.np/support_profile.php).  +
In 2008 I volunteered for the Peabody trust, a social housing association. The team I worked in helped people gain numeracy, literacy and IT skills.  +

Ran music therapy sessions and community inclusive theatre group for pay and voluntarily. Ran a community martial arts club for under privileged urban young people. Facilitator for an inclusive community dance theatre company Presented Buddhist perspective for BBC Radio Cornwall's 'Reflections' program.  +

1980 helped out at a Children's home in Hamburg for a few weeks 1992-1993 Student representative at University of Hamburg in Psychology Department 1992 - 1996 Served on management committee for Womens Music Centre in Hamburg and helped with organising events 2002 - 2004 Two years of trauma counseling at local police station in South Africa 2010 joined residents committee for a few days in providing cooked food to refugees at local police station when Zimbabwean refugees were under xenophobic attack 2013 - 2015 providing transport for local community members at TRC to clinic, hospital or boarding school (TRC is about 50 km away from the nearest town, 80 km away from the boarding school). Helped build ferrous cement tank for water capture and sponsored part of the Ferrous cement building workshop. Tree planting and composting.  +
Education Facilitation Centre Madras 3 months "awareness education" for "untouchables/dalits" 1987 I volunteered in a Camphill community for a year, working and living with people with special learning needs starting in 1998.  +
While I was working professionally as an auditor, I was helping Rokpa Netherlands (Branch of the Rokpa Charity) as a volunteer. I was Treasurer of the board, managed the Finance function and was doing the necessary book-keeping. During the KagyŸ MÅ¡nlam (2015) I volunteered to serve food at Rokpa Soup Kitchen in India.  +
I've volunteered in small ways with nature conservation groups, Students for a Free Tibet, and currently act as a volunteer fire fighter and first responder in the local community.  +
I have been a Literacy Volunteer and library volunteer for over twenty years working with the young and old in both the East Coast and the West Coast.  +
