I only have savings in the form of a car which I intend to sell for $5000 for my retreat. I generally have only worked in lower income jobs, and my personal business is very small. I am, however, from a generally successful family and community, from whom I will generate some support. I am confident that I will be getting one or two principle donors, and this scholarship award would go a long way in explaining and bolstering my value to the people in Panama who are almost exclusively non-Buddhists.  +
Personal savings approx. $3000.00. No familial, or friendship based financial support, or other types of financial assistance. Presently, researching additional means of resources.  +
2134 $ per month pension Possible GoFundMe (crowdsourced donations)  +
I receive Social Security and a pension from the City and County of San Francisco.  +
So far I will rely on my (not substantial) personal savings for extra expenses. Nancy Huszagh, the drupon, has mentioned something about other scholarship possibilities though we haven’t followed up on that yet. Depending on the USD to CAD exchange rate the Tsadra scholarship of $1,000/month could be enough for the base amount of CAD$1,200/month. So far I have no sponsors or donors.  +
I have personal finances of disability benefit which I can pay £3,075 up until May 2025 and I have applied for a sponsor for the other amount of £1,200 from the Khyentse Foundation for one year of which I have not yet received a confirmation. A Dharma friend has also offered a small amount of sponsorship but the amount is yet to be confirmed.  +
I will have a friend sending annual financial support of $1500. I don't have any other support at the moment. My teacher will cover all other expenses such as electricity, water etc.  +
My father is likely willing to provide some support if necessary, and I have secured roughly 1000 dollars in support from fellow sangha members as of the submission of this application.  +
I will cover the remaining 6600 of these 3 years with my personal savings. The preparation year (2025), as well as the 4 other years of retreat will be covered with my personal savings and also some family support (3000)  +
R$60,000 (approximately USD 10,000) — Personal savings. This amount will cover my living expenses from June 2025 untill the beginning of the retreat in September 2026. At the present moment, I am not formally employed, as I am fully dedicating my time to completing the Ngöndro, studying the Tibetan language, and supporting Dharma activities. However, I expect to take at least 6.000USD from these savings to pay the retreat costs. I will write to some Dharma friends whom I believe will be happy to sponsor my retreat or support me in some way, and I will also do fundraising to cover the remaining amount if necessary as well.  +
I will be partly funding the retreat from personal funds. I am preparing to sell a small property to have the money for the retreat. This should bring me about 18,000 euros: 16,125 euro to cover 1/2 of the retreat cost + 2000 euro for the Shrine items required in retreat.  +
I have some personal savings which I am willing to spend if necessary, but as a monk I make very little money. My mother is willing to support me partially, but not fully. She will contribute up to four thousand dollars if a full sponsorship for my retreat is not available.  +
I have some personal savings of approximately 2,000€. Additionally, a few friends are offering support during my retreat.  +
My current income is an apartment rental of approximately €200 per month. My personal savings will serve as proof of funds for the visa and will cover the costs of the visa, health insurance and other personal expenses (shrine items, airplane tickets, trips required for visa renewals, hygiene items etc). The account yield, along with the apartment rental, will cover about 40% of the monthly costs of the retreat—that is why I'm asking for 60%. I am also applying for the Khyentse Foundation Individual Practice Grant. I do not have other sponsors.  +
personal savings and a fundraiser to try and gather the remaining funds for retreat.  +
Members of Gainesville Karma Thegsum Choling have discussed additional sponsorship pending availability of scholarship funds.  +
I will work during the months in between this three year retreat and the next one in order to pay for my extra costs (donations, health assurance etc.).  +
Since I have been a full-time student for most of the last decade, I do not currently have a robust savings account. I also do not descend from a wealthy family and while they are supportive, they are not able to significantly contribute to this retreat. The reason I have waited until now to apply is in order to find paid work and calculate what I may be able to contribute from own side, as I am starting from zero. While 30,000 euros would cover most of the retreat expenses, I am relying on my own savings and the support of family and friends to cover the remaining costs as well as my personal expenses here in the US during that time, which include property taxes and insurance on a small retreat cabin in upstate CT. Additionally, one member of the sangha has pledged to offer me a monthly amount of 300 euros to cover health insurance, visas, and incidentals. Another has offered a small lump sum to help cover monthly bills in the U.S., and I am hoping to have some money saved from my side for offerings and post-retreat transition  +
I spent my savings plus some help from family and friends to pay for the current retreat including shrine items, health insurance and all other costs. From the money I have left I will be able to give €5000 towards the retreat cost and can pay for health insurance and other personal expenses as needed. As I have no other income, in order to be able to continue the retreat I would be extremely grateful if the Tsadra Foundation could help me with the retreat costs.  +
My savings situation remains uncertain until I have completed the necessary preparations for my children in my absence. My father may be able to provide some support through an annual gift, and I am currently in conversation with a potential sponsor. Overall, I feel optimistic that I will be able to cover approximately half of the required amount.  +
