I also do not descend from a wealthy family and while they are supportive, they are not able to significantly contribute to this retreat. There were actually 3 people who gave half the amount I needed, but I can't expect them to help me again with so much money. Therefore I think it will be difficult for me to again raise such an amount of money through personal fund raising. For the 2nd and 3rd phase of retreat I will again receive support from Gampo Abbey. They will pay half my tuition. Therefore I am asking for support for the other half of the retreat tuition and I would be very grateful if Tsadra Foundation could help raise those costs (Nancy Huszagh has provided you with an overview of those costs).I still have some savings: US $ 8,800. However, in April, he announced that he will only sponsor the retreat until January 2012, but pledged to renovate the old farm house in Vistabella. It is uncertain that this will be accomplished in the near future, but it is certain that the present house, which I am in fact house-sitting, will be available for another 2 years, as the owner fears ÅoccupantsÃ Ä prior to our arrival people broke into the house. Hence, the owner provides the house, (my sisterÅs) car, freeway-toll, telephones, electricity, gas and water. I myself have used up all my savings for the last retreat, and have neither family nor friend support as my sister had to accept a low-wage employment due to our being in Spain, of which she pays back her study-debts.
