Thus my service to the Dharma took mainly place in two different locations; one in the more active monastery life in Boudanath and the other in the more secluded, contemplative life in Pharping.Back in the West I further fulfilled H.H. During those six years about three and a half were spent in retreat. During the rest of the time I worked for the institute in whatever capacity I could. The work consisted mainly of helping build retreat cabins including the three year retreat facility, doing whatever maintenance was possible and helping cook for and feed the Sangha when they would gather for programs.Since leaving the Garchen Buddhist Institute in 2008 I have, at Garchen Rinpoches direction, begun teaching Dharma, mainly at The White Lotus Society in Rochester NY.
